The Priests’ Benevolent Fund now has a website to improve communication between the Fund, our supporters and the public: www.priestsbenevolentfund.ca. Since the Fund is a separate organization from the Diocese and its parishes, contacting us directly is the best and fastest way to get the answers to your questions about receipts, donations and anything else related to the Fund. You will find our contact information on the site. We thank all our generous donors for your contributions to the care of the retired priests of the Diocese of Charlottetown.
Holy Family Pastoral Unit bulletin covers are printed each October with businesses purchasing advertising space on a yearly basis. New bulletin covers, reflecting changes in mass times and Unit structure, will be printed in Fall 2017. Until then, the new Sunday Mass times will be listed inside the bulletin each week.

Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Altar Server Program: Serving at the Altar is a privileged way to draw closer to Jesus. It is a significant role in the celebration of the mass and helps young people learn the importance of both commitment and of service to others. The Parish has recently revitalized its Altar Server Program and invites students in grades 3 or higher and their families to participate in this ministry. Contact: Karen MacDonald, email@example.com
Money placed in the bucket, at Our Lady of the Assumption, by children each week is submitted to the Holy Childhood Association at year’s end. Under its banner of children helping children, monies raised are directed towards mission countries – building of schools, provision of health and nutrition programs and medications, school fees, and teaching/learning resources.
Community Service Bursary: Grade 11 & 12 students who volunteer as Catechists or Children’s Liturgy Leaders are eligible to receive a bursary from the Province. The Bursary is calculated at a rate of $5/hour. Students are required to volunteer a minimum of 30 hours or up to a maximum of 100 hours. For further details, visit www.studentloan.pe.ca.
If school is delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, the weekday mass at St. Joachim’s will be cancelled that day. Weekday masses at Assumption will be held as scheduled. Weekend mass cancellations within the Unit will be communicated to parishioners via internet, radio, e-mail and/or telephone. We will make every effort to inform parishioners of any cancellations in a timely manner.
